Portable Toilets For Restaurant Renovation

Frankie'sFrankie's Tavern avoids major disruption by using Mr. John during restroom renovation

To find a solution during their restroom renovation, Frankie's Tavern in Point Pleasant NJ contacted Mr. John for help. Closing the restaurant would mean many disappointed customers as well as the loss of profits. Their goal was to remain in operation, provide an appropriate temporary solution and avoid any disturbance to the normal business routine in order to maintain profitability and ensure customer satisfaction.

Our Response

Mr. John Account Executive Glenn Townsend reviewed available restroom options with the customer to determine which solution would fit in with the requirements of the project. Once a solution was agreed upon, a site visit was made along with Mr. John Project Manager Kenny Robinson to determine placement restrictions, site considerations and any other challenges which may be faced in placing the unit.

Challenge:

Site limitations provided a challenge to the Mr. John team. There was limited space for placement and maneuverability, plus extra considerations had to be made for the customer to build decking. The placement area was also in the rear of the building where deliveries were made, so the team had to ensure that the placement would not interfere with a variety of inbound delivery vehicles.

Solution:

The Mr. John team then immediately went to work to develop solutions to the challenges of the project while maintaining the goals of the customer. A significant task would be determining how to successfully place the unit due to the very limited space restrictions. The team developed a plan and was able to schedule the delivery for the requested date.

In order to place the Mr. John Platinum Plus Petite restroom trailer, the delivery technician had to maneuver the trailer behind the building and position the truck at a 90 degree angle to the trailer, aligning the trailer horizontally to the target placement zone. The trailer was then lowered on to roller jack stands and disconnected from the truck. Utilizing the roller jacks, the trailer was physically pushed in to place, successfully accomplishing delivery.

Result:

Delivery and set up of the Mr. John Platinum Plus Petite restroom trailer was achieved on time and without any problems. There was no interference with the construction of the exterior decking and delivery vehicles were able to enter the area and unload their trucks unobstructed. In addition, the Platinum Plus Petite was almost imperceptible as a temporary restroom due to it's amenities and upscale decor. Staff and customers alike were pleased with the unit and not affected by the ongoing renovations. One customer joked that the Platinum Plus Petite was so nice that the restaurant should keep the restroom trailer and convert the bathroom into a dance floor.

"We were very impressed by the work done by Mr. John to help us get through our renovation without a hitch" said Frank Kineavy, owner of Frankie's Tavern. "They not only provided a solution, they found a way to get around all the little problems that got in the way. We would recommend Mr. John to anyone."

ArtsQuest once again includes Mr. John in Musikfest 2007 !

MusikfestThe sounds of more than 300 musical performers from throughout the United States and around the world will fill the streets, parks and plazas of historic downtown Bethlehem, Pennsylvania during Musikfest, the annual 10-day musical extravaganza that is set for Aug. 3-12 this year.

Musikfest features more than 500 musical performances on 13 indoor and outdoor stages spread throughout center-city Bethlehem. Whether you enjoy classic rock or classical music, rap or reggae, you will find it at the festival. In addition, the event, which attracts more than one million people annually, features a wide variety of food, fun children's activities, visual arts and crafts and a closing-night fireworks spectacular.

Mr. John has had the pleasure of serving this amazing event for a number of years now. The scope of the project includes the placement of over 150 Standard restrooms as well as a number of upscale restrooms, ADA compliant units, sinks, restroom trailers, holding tanks, wastewater pumping / disposal and valets. Loading in and placement of the equipment takes place a week in advance under the guidance of experienced Project and Account Managers. Daily servicing of the units during the event is necessary to accommodate the large number of visitors.

The theme of this year's festival is "One World, Many Rhythms," which is designed to showcase how music is the universal language that transcends cultures and unites the various people of the world. To highlight the theme, the festival will feature acts from Africa, Europe, Latin America and other parts of the globe.

"One of the primary thrusts will be to follow the migration and transformation of rhythm from Africa through Latin America to the United States," says Patrick Brogan, the festival's Director of Performing Arts.

While Musikfest is known for its diversity of musical styles, this year's lineup is shaping up to be the most eclectic ever, with acts ranging from hard rock legends Deep Purple and Grammy Award winning rapper Ludacris, to British songstress Petula Clark, country stars Big and Rich and Kusum Gboo, a Pan African dance troupe from Ghana.

Musikfest hours are 5-11 p.m. Aug. 3 and noon-11 p.m. Aug. 4-12. The festival, which is celebrating its 24th year, is presented by the Bethlehem-based, nonprofit arts organization ArtsQuest. More than 2,000 volunteers and 160 local and regional businesses come together to help make the event possible each year.

QuickChek presents the 2007 New Jersey Festival of Ballooning in Readington, NJ.

It is balloon !

A quarter century ago, visitors to a rest stop in Bloomsbury, NJ were treated to a unique and colorful sight - the first hot air balloon ascensions of The New Jersey Festival of Ballooning.

Over the last two decades, the event, now known as The QuickChek New Jersey Festival of Ballooning, has grown into the largest summertime balloon festival in North America. Celebrating its Silver Anniversary, this year's event was held at Solberg Airport in Readington, NJ on July 27 - 29. Considered "A State Fair With Balloons," it featured a spectacular armada of 125 hot air balloons, headline concerts featuring nationally-recognized artists, 200 arts & crafters, a wide variety of family entertainment, and tons of fun for children of all ages. The headline concerts included Chuck Negron, formerly of Three Dog Night, Blues Traveler and Creedence Clearwater Revisited.

Mr. John has serviced The QuickChek New Jersey Festival of Ballooning since the festival was bought by Festival of Ballooning, Inc. back in 1992. Currently Mr. John provides almost 200 units, including an abundance of ADA-compliant units, plenty of handwash sinks, as well as two (2) restroom trailers for the VIP's in the festival's picturesque Corporate Hospitality Village.

"Two things have really impressed me," according to Ken Staats, Vice President of Operations for the festival. "First, they always 'refresh' their stock of toilets by constantly bringing on-line brand new units. Second, their commitment to service is unmatched. They have taken the time to really understand the challenges in servicing this huge event, and they subscribe to the motto 'Failure is not an option'. Their pre-planning is very thorough, so when it comes time to load in for the festival, everyone knows exactly what needs to be done. It's not a very glamorous job, but they take their business seriously."

The QuickChek New Jersey Festival of Ballooning, whose major sponsor is the family-owned QuickChek Corporation and its network of 108 convenience stores, is proud of its record of supporting local, regional and charitable organizations. For the past 15 years, the festival and QuickChek have teamed up to support the Children's Miracle Network, whose bright orange balloon has become an annual fan favorite.
